TIME OUT NEW YORK
2/16-2/22, 2006

Artist/Songwriter Andy Friedman used to simply recite lyrics to hypothetical songs, but now he's gotten around to writing rootsy tunes, which he delivers in a pointedly everyguy voice. He's usually accompanied not only by his band, but also projections of his stark pencil drawings, some of which have appeared in The New Yorker. Friedman celebrates the release of a new CD, Live at the Bowery Poetry Club.
