The painting was issued by Topps with the artist’s signature, a stamp of authenticity, and artist hand-numbered checklist #1-OA-SP (verso). “OA” stands for “Original Art.” This is the variant edition of the first card in the first series of original paintings to be issued as a complete set by Topps in the history of the company. Each were randomly inserted into Collectors Boxes of 2024 Topps x Spotlight Baseball as 1-of-1 case hits. Many were mistaken for “Exclusive Prints” by collectors.
